Company history

The company has undergone many fundamental changes during its existence. Proof of this is the constant technological development, updating of collections and expansion of production facilities. The company invests considerable funds in innovative production processes, increasing work efficiency with an emphasis on product quality and workplace ergonomics.
Here are the most important milestones of our company.

• 1992

  Slow start

  Our history dates back to 1992. Omnika started as a Czech family company focused focussing on the domestic market with a limited range of products and only a few employees. Leased premises, very simple single-purpose machines.

• 1997

  We are expanding to Europe

  In 1997, however, there was a major turnaround thanks to a Dutch investor, which enabled the company to expand extensively into the market of Western and Northern Europe. The company moved to its own premises, built its first production hall. The main customer is a sister company in the Netherlands, but the first significant contracts, the purchase of new machines and the construction of additional production areas and warehouses are also coming.

• 2003

  Implementation of a new ERP

  Thanks to the ever-increasing demand for our products, there is a need to use new technologies. Production starts in three shifts, we implement IS K2, we use barcodes on production documents and we fill the first trucks distributing our products to Western Europe.

• 2006

  A new era

  Omnika is fully integrated into the Dutch holding company and with this change the era of the family business comes to an end. Together with its sister companies, it acquires more and more customers both in the Benelux and, for example, in Scandinavia and France. And this starts a whole new chapter and another very dynamic expansion.

• 2010

  New production hall and office building

  After the successfully managed crisis in 2008, when the company was one of the few in our region not forced to reduce production or lay off employees in any way, the need for construction comes in the seventh production hall. This project also brings a complete administrative background, including a representative meeting room, which serves, among other things, for the training of our customers or employees. It also includes a showroom, where we have exhibited our most popular products. Omnika is growing by 2000m2.

• 2016

  The attractiveness of our products is growing!

  New and new customers, own R&D department in the Netherlands, a unique system of horizontal blinds with a wide range of colors and all components matched to the slats, powder and wet paint shop and other innovations that differentiate our products from the competition. This year, the eighth production hall with an area of 2500 m2 is completed.

• 2017

  Expansion to Southern Europe

  To meet the increasing demand and to ensure stability, we have set up a second production location in Portugal, called Portoblinds. Through our accurate and skilled workers we are able to expand our production capacity while maintaining the production of high quality sun protection products.

• 2022

  New company building

  At present, Omnika boasts many technological innovations, modern operation and lean production. We implemented paperless production, introduced elements of industry 3.0. We are not slowing down in our efforts, we still have new visions and plans.
